According the FAQ at tfl.org, "A fanlisting is a web clique that lists fans of a particular subject. Unlike most web cliques, a person does not need a web site in order to join. This fanlisting is for the relationship between Jayne and Mal on the late show, Firefly.

Malcolm "Mal" Reynolds is the Captain of Serenity, a Firefly class ship and Jayne Cobb is his hired Mercenary. From the moment they met, it was obvious that Jayne's loyalties, well, didn't exist, actually. After convincing Jayne to switch sides in a fight successfully, he was hired. So from the get-go, Mal knew he couldn't be trusted, and that the day would come when he'd turn on him too, just like he turned on his last employer. This fact was proved in the episode Ariel, where Jayne got "stupid" since "the money was too good". This is also the episode that the screencaps used in the layout are from.

Anyway, this fanlisting is for the relationship between them, in any and all capacities.
